Joan M. Beals, 84

ADAMS, Mass. — Joan M. Beals, 84 of Adams, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. Born in Adams on June 9, 1940, daughter of the late Harvey and Roma (Beaupre) Brosseau. She attended Adams schools and was a graduate of the former St. Joseph High School in North Adams.

She was employed as a pharmaceutical technician for Brooks Pharmacy in Pittsfield for thirteen years, after which she became a homemaker. She was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams. She enjoyed gardening, painting, country line dancing, was an avid reader and among many other passions she cared deeply for animals.

Her husband Bruce K. Beals, whom she married on October 24, 1959, died August 18, 2009. She is survived by two daughters, Geralyn M. DelNegro (Nicholas) of Palmetto, FL., Laurie G. Gavazzi (Eugene) of Adams. Two sons, Michael G. Beals (Lynn) of Adams, Mark G. Beals and his companion Michelle Eurbin of Ocala, FL., a brother, Vincent Brosseau and his companion Patricia Kelly of Cheshire, a sister, Michelle Phillips (Kenneth) of Mesquite, NV. Four Grandchildren, Steven Beals, Gina Shea (Alexander), Jonathan Beals (Jamie), Mitchell Gavazzi, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Christopher and Nicole Beals.

Services for Joan will be privately held at a later date, there are no calling hours. Donations in her memory can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220 who is in charge of arrangements.
