Robert E. Goddeau, 93
ADAMS, Mass. —
Mr. Robert E. Goddeau, 93, of Ludlow, MA died Monday evening, July 1, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Pittsfield on September 8, 1930, a son of the late Howard R. and Ruth G. (Babcock) Goddeau. He attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the Class of 1949. He served with the US Naval Reserve for eight years. He had lived in Ludlow for the past 60 years.
Bob worked as a computer technician in the banking industry, working for several institutions including Hartford National Bank and its successor, Bank of America, until retiring. Earlier, he had worked at General Electric in Pittsfield for several years.
He was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Ludlow, and a member of its Men’s Society.
He was an avid ham radio operator.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, the former Frances A. Fryc, whom he married on August 22, 1953 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams; one brother, William Goddeau of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Andrew and Susan Goddeau; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Richard A. Goddeau on February 22, 2008.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 9th at 11:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.
