Joann Aubin, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Joann Ellen (St. Denis) Aubin, 78, of North Adams died on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in North Adams on September 9, 1945 to the late Harold and Dorothy (Dean) St. Denis.
Joann graduated from McCann Technical High School with the class of 1965. She was last employed by Aramark Services at MCLA until her retirement.
For over 30 years, Joann was a prominent member of the Berkshire County Line Dancing Team. On top of assisting in the growth of the team, she also traveled and participated in competitions throughout the country - competitions in which she/they took home many awards. Joann was constantly volunteering her time as an active member of the Greylock Community Club, VFW, Eagles and more. She also was an avid knitter, crocheting many beautiful pieces, was the queen of arts and crafts and loved to bake. She went above and beyond for family parties and all holidays to ensure everyone felt the magic in whatever the celebration was. Joann loved to travel, especially to a beach, and spending time with family and friends. Known by “Meme” to all who knew her, she was a genuine soul who will be very much missed.
Survivors include her loving husband, Raymond E. Aubin whom she married on October 29, 1966 and had one son, Dana (Lori) Aubin of Williamstown, and two daughters, Kelly (Scott) Nichols of Pittsfield and Paula Aubin of North Adams; one brother James St. Denis of Texas and several nieces and nephews. Joann’s greatest joys in her life are her 3 grandchildren, Kyle Aubin, Jaclyn Aubin Freitag (Matthew), and Morgan Fortin. More recently added to that list is her great grandson Theo. Joann was predeceased by a brother, Harold St. Denis.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Joann Aubin will be on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home - WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will be private. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 12-2 PM. Immediately following the services, the Greylock Club will be hosting the Aubin family and all who would like to join in celebrating Joann’s beautiful life.
