Michael J. Schnopp

Michael J. Schnopp passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Berkshire Medical Center from complications due to lung cancer. Born in Pittsfield on May 12, 1948, he was the first born of Joseph and Katherine (Zahn) Schnopp's seven children.

Michael graduated from Mt.Greylock Regional High School with the class of 1966 and then began his trade as a machinist.

Hunting and fishing were among the things he loved doing with friends and family, especially with his children and grandchildren.

Mike leaves behind his wife Jean (Dietrich), daughter Tracie (Timothy) Therrien and sons Christopher and Alec (Katherine), seven grandchildren, Andrea, Zachary, Aaron, Kyle, Matthew, Joseph and Joshua, as well as his five great-grandchildren, Jhelana, Addyson, Avery, Rowan and Cassian. He is also survived by his sisters Susan O'Brien, JoAnn Stevens and Donna Marachino, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers James, Ronald and Timothy.

The family would like to thank Berkshire Medical Center and Berkshire Medical Center North for all the professional and compassionate services Mike and his family received through the two weeks when they all needed it the most.

Funeral Services:

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made through Tracie Therrien to Stamford VT Sportsman's Club at 100 Central Shaft Road, Florida, MA 01247.
