Rita N. Oslizlo, 93
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —Mrs. Rita N. (Cote) Accetta Oslizlo, 93, of Pittsfield, formerly of North Adams, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born in Lowell, MA on October 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Blanche Cote Letalien, and attended North Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame Elementary School. Rita had lived in North Adams for most of her life until moving to Pittsfield 14 years ago. Rita last worked as a cashier at the former Price Chopper Supermarket in North Adams for 18 years until retiring in 1992. Earlier, she had worked at the former Pop’s Bakery, Sprague Electric Co., Wall-Streeter Shoe Co., and Sunnyside Restaurant. As a young woman Rita enjoyed dancing, especially the Jitterbug, and played both the piano and accordion. She hosted many family picnics and loved playing cards, making puzzles, dining out and travelling. She took many summer trips to Cape Cod with her daughter, Jody. Rita is survived by her daughters Jody DiSanti (Jeffrey Clemons) and Kristin Accetta, both of Pittsfield; her sister Beverly Cable of North Adams; her grandchildren Jason Jones (Meagan), Nicholas DiSanti (Kaylyn) and Jasmine Accetta, all of Pittsfield; Crystal Slaydon (Chris) of St. Helens, OR, Steven Accetta and John Braman, both of North Adams, and Michael Shepard (Brenda) of Adams, as well as several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by her first husband, Francis Accetta, her second husband, Stanley Oslizlo, her daughters Leslie Anderson, Karen Binkowski and Susan Shepard; her sisters Barbara Rizzo and Maryann Maxwell; and her grandchildren Douglas Taliaferro and Dawn Shepard. Rita’s family would like to express their thanks to Lisa and Stephanie for the excellent home care, friendship, time and love they shared, and to Janie at the Supportive Day Program for all the time, love and care she gave to Rita, and their appreciation to the CNA’s and Nurses who cared for Mom these last months. The funeral will be held on Monday, June 17th at 1:00 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. A calling hour will be held on Monday from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM, prior to the funeral.
