Mary C. Therrien
Mary, 84, passed away on February 26, 2024 at North Adams Commons in North Adams. She was born on November 25, 1939 in North Adams, MA to Louis and Maria Segala. Mary grew up in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. She began work after the birth of her youngest child to help support her family. She worked at General Electric, retiring in 1995 after 27 years.
Mary married Ernest Therrien on July 29, 1958 in North Adams. They were happily married for 64 years. Ernest passed away on August 24, 2022. Mary was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary church. She enjoyed knitting, rooting for the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, Saratoga Race Course, trips to the casinos and most of all her family.
Mary is survived by her daughters Tammy (Rick) Moon and Barbara Case, her sons Ernest Jr. (Petra), Edward (Connie), Daniel and Timothy (Tracie) Therrien, and her son-in-law Michael Boulger. Her sisters Peggy Stefanski and Jackie Cote. Her sister-in-laws Barbara Foote, Helen and Margaret Therrien and brother-in-laws Bill Cote, Arthur and Robert Therrien. Grandchildren Amanda Moon, Michael (Erika) Boulger, Patricia (David) Wincek, Edward Therrien Jr, Christopher (Julie) Therrien, Heather Holzchlag, Jacklyn (Brian) Kunz, Allison Therrien, Andrea and Joseph Therrien, Justin, Kenny and Kevin Case. Great-grandchildren Zachary, Haley, Taylor, Aubrie, Chloe, Curtis and Cody Boulger, Brayden, Mason, Carson, Paris, Mia and Jhe’lana Therrien, Jesse, Andrew, Micah, Kambri, Lexi Case and Jameson Holzchlag. Great-great grandson Noah Boulger. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Mary was predeceased by her sisters Katherine Griswold and Angie Downs, brothers John, Frank, Louis, Joseph and Jack Segala, her beloved daughter Debra Boulger and grandson Chad Boulger, sister-in-laws Sister Adele Ceccarelli, Santina, Florence and Adeline Segala, Shirley and Constance Therrien, Lee Galeski, Clara Simon and Doris Ryan, brother-in-laws Albert Griswold, Mel Downs, Bud Stefanski, Bud Ryan, Joe Simon, Bernie Galeski, Wilfred and Donald Therrien.
Our family would like to thank Hospice Care of the Berkshires and North Adams Commons for all the great care that both Mary and Ernest received.
Funeral services will be private. Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home of North Adams is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in Mary’s honor be made to Florida Volunteer Fire Department in Florida, MA.
