Doris C. Alibozek, 85
ADAMS, Mass. —
Mrs. Doris C. (Burnett) Alibozek, 85, of Adams, died on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at her home.
She was born in Adams on May 11, 1938, daughter of the late Douglas and Mildred (Durda) Burnett. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School.
Following graduation, Doris married her high school sweetheart, David E. Alibozek on March 9, 1957, and together they shared a country life of dairy farming for over 50 years, running Tophet Brook Dairy Farm in Adams which they earned the “Dairy of Distinction” from the Farm Bureau. David died on December 26, 2013. Doris had also worked as an audiologist in the Adams Cheshire School District in the 1970’s and the Adams Town Hall in the 50’s and 60’s.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Cheshire, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Doris created the Country Cousins 4H Club in Adams which she ran for 44 years, winning several state 4H awards and over 200 trophies. She was one of the original four people who started the Adams Agricultural Fair over 45 years ago. She was a member of the Adams Sno Drifters, loved traveling, especially to Aruba and had many friends from all over the world that would come to visit the farm.
She is survived by three sons, Glenn Alibozek and his wife Heidi, Gary Alibozek and his wife Sharyn and Brian Alibozek, all of Adams; one daughter, Cheryl Johnson and her husband Chris of Bennington, VT; eight grandchildren, Chad Boulger who lives at the farm and together with Brian continue to work the dairy farm and were full time caretakers of Doris, Ashton Alibozek and his wife Kelly, Garrett Alibozek, Travis, Jazmine and Jamielyn Alibozek, Caitlyn Prevey McNeal (Shane) and Parker Prevey; five great grandchildren, Blake, Javery, Natalia, Carson and Clayton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Burnett.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, January 21st at 4:00 P.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.
Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
