Daniel Goodell Sr, 75

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Daniel Roy Goodell, Sr, 75, passed away on Monday January 15, 2024 after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.

Daniel was born in Clarksburg, MA on December 12, 1948 a son of the late Gerald and Delores (Kienzle) Goodell.

Daniel attended local schools and was employed at various businesses before joining the Unites States Army in 1969. After serving honorably in Vietnam and earning a Purple Heart, Daniel spent his life helping others. He became a father figure to the neighborhood children, coached several youth sports teams and assisted many local seniors in keeping up with their needs. Daniel was an avid bowler at Mount Greylock Bowl and cherished many Saturday evenings with his family playing cards or sitting around the fireplace.

Daniel was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Stephen and Richard, and his sister, Kathleen O’Dell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna (Flagg), two sons, Keith (Barbara) Goodell, of San Antonio, Texas and Daniel, Jr (Kimberly) Goodell of Clarksburg. Two daughters, Tina (Chad) Lapine of Clarksburg and April Goodell of North Adams. He also leaves two brothers, Wayne and Douglas (Andrea) Goodell of North Adams and one sister, Judith Girard of North Adams. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Stephen, Cameron, Sydney, Gavin, Gebryela and Geryn. He also leaves 9 great grandchildren, Madyson, Alyssa, Matthew, Bionca, Kegan, Bennett, Willow, Eliza and Benjamin.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Daniel Goodell Sr. will be on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4-6 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli – CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
