Marcia J. Kus, 70

ADAMS, Mass. —  Mrs. Marcia J. (Pizani) Kus, 70, of Adams, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Berkshire Medical Center-North Adams. She was born in Adams on June 6, 1953, a daughter of the late Joseph and Camelia “Carmen” (Bigda) Pizani. She attended Adams schools, graduating from Hoosac Valley High School with the Class of 1971.

She then earned her certificate in cosmetology in 1972 from the C.H. McCann Technical High School Post Graduate Program. Marcia worked as a hairdresser for over 50 years, currently at C. Carlo Hair Express in Pittsfield. Earlier, she had worked at the former J.C. Penney Hair Salon at the former Berkshire Mall; and began her career at the former Mayfair Salon in Pittsfield. She had been a communicant of St. John Paul II Parish in Adams.

Marcia is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph F. Kus, Jr., whom she married on October 17, 1975; three brothers, Richard Pizani and his wife Beverly of Adams; Joseph Pizani of Pittsfield, and Robert Pizani and his wife Marilyn of Cheshire; three sisters, Eileen Zieba and Shirley Cyrulik, both of Adams, and Diane Lavigne of Pittsfield; her brother-in-law James Kus and his wife Sharon of Pittsfield; her sister-in-law Kathleen Weston and her husband Nathan of Stafford Springs, CT, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces grandnephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews.

She was predeceased by a nephew, Matthew Lavigne, and her brother-in-law, Henry Zieba, Jr. Funeral services and burial will be held on a date to be announced in the Spring.
