Diane Chalmers, 73

ADAMS, Mass. —  Diane M. (LeSage) Chalmers, 73 of Adams, MA died on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Diane was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 7, 1950 a daughter of the late Henry and Elvina (Sartori) LeSage. Diane grew up in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1968. She graduated from MCLA with the class of 1972 and attained a master’s degree in Special Needs in 1992 from Lesley College.

Diane taught severely-handicapped students until 1999, when she retired due to illness. She earlier worked as an accountant at W.R. Grace in Adams. Diane also managed the office of a family business, DMC Machine & Driveline in Lenox and DMC Racing Products in New Lebanon, NY.

She loved sharing time with family and friends, enjoyed Las Vegas Trips and spending time outdoors. She also loved the sport of auto racing, especially supporting her son as he competed all over the northeast.

Diane leaves her husband, Robert H. Chalmers Jr. and son, Robert H. Chalmers III. She also leaves her brother, Jeffrey LeSage (Sandra) of Sarasota, FL.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to Celebrate the life of Diane Chalmers will be celebrated on Thursday, January 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Trottier Pringle Funeral Home, 6 Summer Street Adams, MA 01220. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation through the funeral home.
