Ruth E. Clairmont, 89

Ruth E. Clairmont, 89 of Cheshire, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Adams on February 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Gerald C. and Violet Mille Lord, she attended Adams schools.

Ruth became the proprietor of the former Connie’s Cleaners in Adams which she operated for many years until the business closed.

She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire, she enjoyed knitting.

Her husband Raymond R. Clairmont, whom she married on January 5, 1973, passed away July 5, 2013.

She is survived by a sister, Barbara Lorenz and her husband Steve of Plant City, Fla., a stepson, Raymond R Clairmont Jr. and his wife Aleida of Virginia, four grandchildren, Celine, Jonathan, Justin Clairmont, Jefferson Herrera and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by a brother, Gerald C. Lord Jr. and two sisters, Carolyn Hancock and Patricia Guettler.

Services for Ruth will take place Friday, January 12, 2024 at 12PM from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams, there are no calling hours.

We are so sorry to hear about Ruth's passing. We were best friends with her sister Carol, and Dave. I have many memories of Ruth, always smiling , and a great seamstress. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Grew up on Richmond Lane and frequented Connie’s Cleaners often. Ruth was such a beautiful person, always loved seeing her, we shared many laughs. Condolences to her families and friends.
