Marian Esposito, 86
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marian Eugenia (Welch) “Mimi” Esposito, 86 of North Adams, MA died on Sunday December 31, 2023 at her home.
She was born in North Adams, MA on October 24, 1937, a daughter of Neal William and Harriet (Flood) Welch. She graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1955 where she was the drum majorette for the school marching band. Mimi graduated from Pine Manor Junior College in 1957 and also studied at the Katherine Gibbs School.
Mimi was first employed by Hyman Patashnick in North Adams. Following her marriage, she was primarily a homemaker and devoted to her family. In 1992, she and her sister established M & M Construction, Inc. which was recognized as a woman-owned business.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she was one of its first Adorers and served as an usher for many years. Mimi enjoyed playing golf and was the longest tenured female member of Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown. She also served as the secretary of the North Adams Travel Club and played bridge with several different groups. Mimi loved her annual family trips to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Cape Cod. In addition to those vacations, she cherished holidays, birthdays and anniversaries with her children, grandchildren and extended family who meant everything to her.
She was the widow of Peter Francis Esposito who died on February 20, 2019. They were married on June 30, 1962. Survivors include two sons, Peter Welch Esposito of Orlando, FL and Paul William Esposito and his wife, Kristina of New Milford, CT. She also leaves three grandchildren, Meghan Welch Esposito, Neal William Esposito and Owen Paul Esposito; her sister, Mary Maxymillian and her husband, James of Pittsfield, MA and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mimi Esposito will be celebrated Saturday January 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Friday from 4-7 PM.
