Walter M. Asdikian, Jr., 93

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Walter Mousek Asdikian, Jr., 93, of Adams, died Wednesday afternoon, December 27, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

He was born in North Adams on March 20, 1930, son of the late Walter M. and Beatrice (Haley) Asdikian, and graduated in 1948 from Drury High School. A musician and singer-songwriter from an early age, he was awarded a scholarship to the Dyer-Bennet School of Minstrelsy in Aspen, Colorado. However, the Korean Conflict had begun and Walter enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1948 until his Honorable Discharge in 1952. On October 25, 1952, he married Elsie B. Delmolino, who died on February 28, 2019, at age 88.

Walter was the proprietor of Clover Farm General Store in Wilmington, Vermont, for 30 years. He enjoyed “retirement” over the next 30 years working part-time in Val’s Variety, then in the produce department at Stop & Shop, where he loved getting to know his customers.

He is survived by his children, David Alexander of CA, Karen Landry of CA, Pamela Bourdon and her husband Ed of MA, Lynn Duncan of CA, and Mark Asdikian and his wife Lisa of NV; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
