Barbara Letalien 90

Barbara J. (Girard) Letalien, 90 of North Adams died on Friday, December 29, 2023 at North Adams Commons.

She was born in North Adams, MA on January 31, 1933, a daughter of David J. Girard and Catherine Hilda (Drennan) Girard. She was educated in North Adams schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School.

Barbara worked at Sprague Electric and Excelsior Processing and Printing until her retirement in 1995. Barbara enjoyed reading, poetry and bird watching. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved to travel with her family. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi church in North Adams.

She married Joseph Felix Letalien on October 12, 1962. Joseph predeceased her on May 13, 2009. Barbara is survived by her three sons; Arthur M. Palmer, Jr (Thea Hotaling), and Steven Palmer (Diane) and Jeffrey Letalien (Lynn) She also leaves her grandchildren; Christopher Letalien , Kinsey, Jed and Jeremy Palmer; great grandchildren, Mariah and Owen Letalien and Levi and Darius Letalien and niece Pamela Smith; great nieces Shelley Leighton and Carla Roy, great nephew Nolan Sullivan and granddaughter-in-law Melissa Letalien She was predeceased by her grandson, David Jeffrey Letalien, brother Thomas Girard and sister Marie “Buddy” LaFountain.

 

Funeral Services to celebrate the Life of Barbara Letalien will take place Friday January 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North dams, MA.
