Keith L. Erdeski, 63
ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Keith L. Erdeski, 63, of Adams, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 18, 2023 at his home.
He was born in North Adams on February 4, 1960, a son of the late Carl J. Erdeski, Jr. and Pearl G. (Dubreuil) Erdeski. He attended local schools and graduated from C.H. McCann Technical High School with the Class of 1978.
Keith served as a Patrolman with the Adams Police Department for over 30 years. He was appointed a provisional officer in 1981, a permanent reserve officer in 1982, and received his Permanent appointment on January 11, 1984. He thoroughly enjoyed his career as a policer officer and proudly donned his uniform every day. He retired from the force in 2014. He then went to work for Berkshire Health Systems as a courier and driver of their Bloodmobile to various locations. He had also worked part-time as a truck driver for the former Butler Wholesale Products in Adams for many years. He had been a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association and ran the Adams Police Athletic League for many years.
He enjoyed walking, yardwork and weightlifting in his spare time. He especially enjoyed spending time with Peter and Paige. They were often spotted at Dunkin and the Rainbow Shack.
He is survived by two brothers, his twin, Kevin Erdeski and his wife Beth of North Adams, and Kirk Erdeski of Adams; one sister, Karen Barrow and her husband Peter of Adams; his nephew Peter Saxon Barrow and his partner Olivia Bresett of Dedham, MA and his niece Paige Victoria Barrow of Adams; as well as several cousins and his brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27th at 11:00 AM in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, 21 Maple St. Adams. Burial will be held at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday Dec. 27 th from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, IN THE CHURCH, prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Adams Police Association, 4 School St. Adams, MA 01220, for the benefit of Keith’s fellow officers and their K-9 program, in honor of Keith and the department’s late K-9 officer Kumar.
