Bernard "Butch" Powers, 77

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Bernard F. (Butch) Powers, 77, of Adams, died on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Care Center in Lenox.

He was born in Adams on August 6, 1946, son of the late Bernard and Olive (Perreault) Powers. He attended schools in Adams.

Mr. Powers worked for many years as an assembler in both the power transformer and naval ordnance divisions of the former General Electric Co., in Pittsfield until retiring.

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. He had also been a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Adams. He was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard and the Adams Sno Drifters. He was an exceptional woodworker, loved camping and drives in his antique pickup truck.

His first wife, the former Judith Bernier, whom he married on May 10, 1969, died on June 23, 1994.

He is survived by his son, Todd Powers of Adams; his grandson, Dakota Powers of Adams; two sisters, Judy Marko and her husband Richard of Adams and Jean Levesque of Cheshire; his former wife, the former Janice Godbout; his dog George and by many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Relatives and friends are invited.

Funeral services and burial are private for the family.

I worked many years with Butch at A.Shapiro & sons in the late 90's- early 2000's He was a great guy. His antique truck was a thing of beauty. R.I.P. Butch.
