Marcia Messina, 70
Marcia Diane (Crews) Messina, 70 of North Adams died Thursday December 14, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS.
She was born in North Adams on July 14, 1953 a daughter of the late Kenneth and Marion (Brewer) Crews. Marcia attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. She obtained her associate degree from Bay Path Junior College.
Marcia was employed for seventeen years as the customer service manager at Surgimed in North Adams. Before that, she worked at Coakley Pierpan Dolan and Collins Insurance Agency. She enjoyed reading ,walking , and spending time with her family and dog.
Survivors include her daughter Jennifer Felten-Goodhind (Murray) of North Adams, son Thomas Felten (Gina) of Boothbay, Maine. She also leaves three grandchildren Danielle Felten, Joel Felten, Emile Felten, sister Kathy Ascevich (David) of Williamstown and brother Kenneth Crews of North Adams and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Messina, a sister Cheryl Bergendahl and brother Gary Crews.
The family would like to thank her many friends who helped support her through her illness. As well as, a very special thank you to Michael Hodgkins of Compassionate Care ALS.
Per Marcia’s request there will be no calling hours. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
