Francis W. Beaudreau, 92

Retired Senior Master Sergeant U.S. Air Force

Francis William Beaudreau, 92 of North Adams, decorated veteran of the US Air Force died on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his family. Francis was born in the Greylock section of North Adams on December 16, 1930 a son of the late Raymond & Fleurange (Babeu) Beaudreau.

Francis joined the Massachusetts National Guard at the age of 16 years old obtaining permission from his parents to do so. After he graduated from Drury High School in 1950 he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Korea during the war. He was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. His role was to load munitions onto aircraft. Francis retired as an E8 Senior Master Sergeant after proudly serving his country for 26 years. Francis was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War where he obtained many medals such as the Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Korean War Medal he received from the Korean government. Francis and his family lived the military life that required moving to Louisiana, Tennessee, Ohio, Spain, Long Island, Minnesota, Iceland and Washington State. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1972 he brought his family back to their hometown of North Adams.

He was last employed by Photech in Williamstown. Francis was a member of the North Adams American Legion, VFW, Greylock Community Club, a true sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Francis was predeceased by his wife, Rachel Mary (Parker) Beaudreau who died on November 26, 2020. They were married in 1952. Francis leaves his sons, Francis Beaudreau Jr. of North Adams, David Beaudreau (Marilyn) of Ayer, MA. He also leaves four grandchildren, Danielle Beaudreau (Etienne), Jonathan Beaudreau, Nathan Beaudreau, and Yvonne Beaudreau (Brian); great grandchildren, Eowyn and Aiden; step-great grandchildren Aubrey and Madeline; sister Ann Vachereau and nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Beaudreau.

 

FUNERAL NOTICE: A service to celebrate the life of Francis W. Beaudreau will be on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home – WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St. Calling hours will be from 10- 11 AM at the funeral home. A graveside service with full military honors for Francis William Beaudreau will be in the Springtime at the Veterans Section in Southview Cemetery.
