Salvatore Congello, 83

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Salvatore Joseph Congello, 83 of North Adams, MA died on Tuesday December 5, 2023 at Kimball Farms Nursing Care in Lenox.

He was born in Mount Vernon, NY on March 10, 1940, the son of Salvatore J. and Catherine O. Congello. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1962 and served in the US Army.

Sal was a self-employed certified public accountant for many years. Sal enjoyed working on Lionel trains. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants football team and the New York Yankees baseball team.

His wife was Marianne C. Congello who died on February 18, 2010. They were married on September 21, 1963. Survivors include one daughter, Anne-Rita Murray of Havelock, NC and two sons, S. Joseph Congello of North Adams, and Oberdan Congello of Kingsport, TN. He also leaves four grandchildren, Sonni-Oonagh, Ronan, Jackson and Caroline and a great granddaughter, Kyah-Noemi.

I first met Sal in 1975! We continued a friendship with Sal,his wife MaryAnne and his family! We shared many laughs and good times with them for many years! Carole and ii were deeply saddened to hear of Sal's passing but i know that he is in a much better place now! Our sincere condolance to Sal's children and grandchildren!
