Nancy L. Patenaude, 88
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Nancy Lou (Lahey) Patenaude, 88, of North Adams, formerly of Adams, died Thursday evening, November 30, 2023 at North Adams Commons. She was born in Adams on April 20, 1935 a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Hakes) Lahey, and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School.
Nancy last worked at Stop & Shop Supermarket in North Adams. Earlier, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams and Shea’s Clothing in Adams. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and also volunteered at North Adams Regional Hospital for several years. She had been a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and baking. Her husband, Leo J. Patenaude, whom she married on July 23, 1959, died on May 4, 1990.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Patenaude (Rose) of Cary, IL and David Patenaude of North Adams; one daughter, Shannon Gamache (Kevin) of North Adams; eight grandchildren including Matthew, Amanda, Kate, Kirstie, Shelley, Zachary, Benjamin and Rebecca; four great grandchildren including Samuel, Josephine, Wade and Avery; one sister, Muriel Roswell of West Point, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel Patenaude in 2004; and by a sister, Joan Ouellette in 2022.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 8th at 12 Noon in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. A calling hour will be held on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon prior to the service.
