Hector "Bill" Foisy, 91
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Hector Joseph “Bill” Foisy 91, of Clarksburg, MA died Sunday November 12, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in North Adams, MA on July 10, 1932 a son of Hector and Delia (St. Armand) Foisy. He attended schools in North Adams and was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the Unites States Army obtaining the rank of Private First Class.
Bill was employed at General Cable, Town of Clarksburg and retired from the Grace Company in Adams, MA. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, hiking, riding his snowmobile and working around his house. He was a very well-liked soul with stories of hunting and other good stories that entertained. He was respected and loved by everyone that knew him.
His wife Phyllis (Chase) Parker Foisy whom he married July 23, 1966 died December 29, 2013.
Survivors include his sister Blanche Russett of Williamstown; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews including his nephew, Leonard Foisy Jr and Nancy Foisy and his grandniece, Erica Vosburgh who was there for him at the drop of a hat, along with her husband, Ken Vosburgh. Besides his nieces and nephews, he leaves his cousin, Heilga in Maryland. He was predeceased by two brothers Leonard Foisy Sr., Paul Foisy and a sister Bernadette Jones. The family extends a special “thank you” to the Clarksburg Fire Dept and all of his neighbors including Stephanie who helped him with his chores and enjoyed his conversations. He will be definitely missed by all who knew him.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery with full military honors. A Calling Hour will be Friday morning from 10-11 AM at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA.
