Frank P. Amato, 84
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — FRANK P. AMATO of 26 Charles Street, North Adams, MA. died Monday, October 23, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. after complications from a heart attack. Frank was 84 at the time of his death.
Frank was the son of Frank W. Amato and Constance (Boillat)Amato, born January 16, 1939 in North Adams, MA
Frank retired from General Electric/Martin Marietta after 40 years of service, and from J.T. Bus Company. He had previously worked at Wall Streeter Shoe Company, and also worked construction.
Frank was an early member of the Piston Poppers car club. He was an avid sportsman, spending his happiest hours fishing and boating on Lake Champlain and the Otter Creek in Vergennes, Vermont, and hunting the woods of Vermont, New York and Massachusetts.
He is survived by his Life Companion of almost 30 years, Dorothy (Dotty) Dunn who shared her home with him. He leaves his two daughters, Molly (Amato) Mc Culloch (Mark) and Cynde (Amato) Bergeron, and grandchildren Allyson Rohane, Ian Mc Culloch, and Maggie Mc Culloch, Joshua Bergeron and Benjamin Bergeron. He also leaves his sister, Susan (Amato) Lefebvre, his brother-in-law, William Lefebvre and his niece Lynn (Lefebvre) Wallace and her husband Daniel, and his great nephew Calvin William Wallace. He also leaves his partner Dotty's daughter Robin Boucher and her children Thomas and Melanie who gave him help and support. Robin's grandchildren Kyle and Noah, who he considered his grand children. He leaves several cousins. He also leaves his best friend, Edward Houle.
Frank will be sorely missed, He will be remembered for all his fishing and hunting stories. He will be remembered also for the fish fries he prepared for his co-workers at General Electric/Martin Marietta.
