Margaret 'Peg' Mekdeci, 71

ADAMS, Mass. —  Mrs. Margaret "Peg" Mekdeci, 71, of Adams, died on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving husband and step-children.

She was born in North Adams on Dec. 16, 1951, daughter of the late Robert and Bridget Sheehan Cuddeback. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School.

Peg worked for many years at Greylock Federal Credit Union in Adams, until retiring as the regional vice president.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. She was a longtime member of Forest Park Country Club in Adams. Peg enjoyed girls' trips to the casinos and golfing with her husband and friends. In retirement, she looked forward to spending her winters with her husband at their home in Winterhaven, Fla. Peg was devoted to her family and took great joy in caring for her great-grandchildren and hosting family events at her home in Adams.

She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Mekdeci, whom she married on Oct. 9, 1998; her stepdaughter, Kristi Briggs and her husband, Christopher, of Adams; her stepchild Paulee Mekdeci and their husband, Patrick Brown, of Brattleboro, Vt.; her son, Brian Lazarczyk and his wife, Dawn, of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Dominic, Ashley, Stephen and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Lacey, and by her brothers-in-law, Keith Mekdeci and his wife, Sheila, and Stephen Mekdeci and his partner, Vicki Gagne.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. from PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family kindly asks anyone attending the calling hours or funeral to please wear a mask.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
