Anthony J. Piscioneri, Jr., 79

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Anthony J. Piscioneri, Jr., 79, of Adams, died Friday morning, October 27, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Adams on September 16, 1944, a son of the late Anthony J. Piscioneri, Sr. and Carmela (Lentine) Piscioneri., and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams Memorial High School with the Class of 1964. Tony worked as a heavy equipment operator at Pfizer Inc. and Specialty Minerals Corp. until his retirement in 1999. A longtime Adams firefighter, he was a member of the Alert Hose Company, where he was elected to membership 50 years ago, in August of 1973. Tony was an avid hiker for many years, and had completed many long hikes, including a large part of the Appalachian Trail and the Long Trail. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Patricia A. Carlow, whom he married on April 24, 1965; a daughter, Lisa McNeil and her husband, Michael, of Gloucester, VA; a son, Anthony T. Piscioneri and his companion, Mary Arigoni, of Adams; three grandchildren, Christopher Piscioneri, Connor McNeil (Madison) and Shaelyn McNeil; a great granddaughter, Declan; a brother, James Piscioneri of Fort Myers, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 30th at 7:00 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM prior to the service, in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations to the Alert Hose Co., 3 Columbia St. Adams, MA 01220, or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 877 South St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
