Dennis A. Wandrei, 76
ADAMS, Mass. —
Mr. Dennis A. Wandrei, 76, of Adams, died on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Adams on September 8, 1947, a son of the late August and Lily (Poupart) Wandrei. He attended schools in Adams.
Mr. Wandrei worked for many years as a welder for the former Beloit Jones in Dalton.
He was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cruises and especially going to his camp on Lake Champlain.
He is survived by his wife, the former Joanne S. Rumgay, whom he married on February 23, 1980; his stepson Derek Wells and his wife Kristin of Adams; his daughter Shelley Pennington of Chicopee; one sister Diane Biagini of Cheshire and by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Jason Wandrei, by four brothers, Leonard, Norman, Richard and August Wandrei, Jr.; and by three sisters, Bernice Giroux, Rosalie Randall and Carol Burdick.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 10:30 A.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Adams.
Calling hours are Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 877 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
