Dolores "Dola" Lipinski, 95
ADAMS, Mass. — Dolores S. “Dola” (Scieszka) Lipinski, 95, of Adams, died Friday, October 13, 2023 at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown, MA. She was born in Adams on June 6, 1928, a daughter of Felix and Aniela (Grzebien) Scieszka and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1946. Dola was a longtime employee of the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, a baker and clerk at the former Adams Bakery Assn. and served as the clerk of the Adams office of the North Adams Transcript. In her retirement, she was a floral arrangement specialist at the former J. Zepka & Sons Florists in Adams. Dola was an active participant and lector at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, where she was a member of its Rosary Sodality and was an active “Vigiler” who helped successfully petition the Vatican to re-open her church when it was temporarily closed. She was a member and officer of the Polish Women’s Club and loved to go candlepin bowling and dancing at the former Polish National Alliance (PNA) in Adams. Her husband, Joseph J. Lipinski, whom she married on September 5, 1949, died on July 27, 2011. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, several godchildren, and a sister-in-law, Pina Scieszka. Throughout her long life, Dola was fortunate to have many relatives who were always happy and willing to help out, especially in her later years when more care was required. She was predeceased by seven brothers, including Stanley, Frank, John, Felix, Gregory, Anthony, and Lt. Joseph Scieszka, who died during World War II; and three sisters, including Veronica Fenelon, Mary Weaver and Sophie Hartwig. Another brother, Joseph, and sister, Olympia, both died at an early age. The funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 23rd at 10:30 from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. A calling hour will be held prior to the Mass on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 in the funeral home. Memorial donations in Dola’s name may be made to the James G.
