Dianne Marie (Falcon) Major

A graveside service will be held at the Falcon family plot at Southview Cemetery in North Adams at noon on Friday, October 20, 2023, to celebrate the life if Dianne M. Major who passed away on June 2, 2020, in Ft. Myers, Florida following a long illness.

Dianne was born on November 5, 1942 to William N. Falcon and Emma (Mossolani) Falcon. She attended Mark Hopkins elementary school and graduated from Drury High School in 1961. In 1963, Dianne received her Associate Degree from Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow, MA., and later her Bachelor's Degree in Education from North Adams State College.

On June 18, 1965, Dianne married her best friend and the love of her life, Michael F. Major at St. Anthony of Padua Church in North Adams. Mike and Dianne raised their daughters, Michelle and Alison, in North Adams and Clarksburg, MA before relocating to Ft. Myers, FL in 1978.

While living in Clarksburg, Dianne taught at the Clarksburg Elementary School.

After working for several years at an accounting firm in Ft. Myers, Dianne began working as the bookkeeper at the Outrigger Beach Resort on Ft. Myers Beach. After a few years in that role, she was promoted to General Manager of the Outrigger. During her tenure as General Manager, Dianne brought the small, family-owned resort to a vacation destination for guests from around the globe, many returning each year. Following her retirement, Dianne and Mike enjoyed traveling, and the amenities that come with living in the "Sunshine State."

Every winter, Dianne looked forward to meeting up with their many friends from North Adams who made Florida their winter homes.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband Mike and daughters Michelle Colon (Luis) and Alison Ross as well as her loving nephews, their wives, great-niece, great-nephews and sister-in-law. She was predeceased by her brother, William (Billy) and adoring brother, Richard (Dick) Falcon.
