James R. Boland, 39
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — James Ryan Boland entered the world on Sunday, May 13, 1984 — Mother’s Day. He was born to Jim and Michele (Grieco) Boland and proud big sister, Becky. He had a head full of hair and the most kissable chubby cheeks. Nearly ten years later, he would become an older sibling himself, when his brother Jesse was born.
After a months-long struggle with liver failure, Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 29, 2023. Our broken hearts will forever feel his absence, but we are comforted knowing that he is no longer suffering. His soul is healed and, most importantly, free! In fact, we are certain Jimmy entered Heaven greeting those he knew with some typical, wise-ass remark that only he could get away with!
Jim grew up in North Adams, attending public schools and graduating from the automotive shop at McCann Technical High School in 2003. Later, he earned his electrician's license and was employed by various local companies over the years, most recently with Comalli Electric.
Jimmy grew up playing hockey, riding bikes with friends, and tormenting his older sister, but his biggest passion was always motocross. He spent the majority of his weekends traveling hours to compete at tracks all around, taking home a number of trophies. When he wasn't racing, he was watching races. His love for Supercross was something he instilled in his younger brother Jesse. Spectating at places like Southwick and Unadilla became a favorite, shared pastime of theirs. Much like his father, Jim also relished his time in the woods. Some of his best days were spent introducing his twins, Jimmy and Ellie, to the Greylock Glen, Pecks Falls, and other quiet spots of the Berkshires.
Jimmy was predeceased by his father Jim in 2016, as well as his beloved younger brother, Jesse, only one month ago. Besides his mother, sister, and brother-in-law J., he leaves behind the absolute loves of his life, his twin children James and Joelle. They are far and away his proudest accomplishment. He also leaves his beautiful partner, Lindsey, and their cat, Moose, with whom he made his home, as well as his two young nieces Kenley and Felicity, who will miss their funny Uncle Jimmy immensely.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the compassionate hospice nurses at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Not only did they provide excellent care and comfort for Jim in the end, but also peace and tranquility as he transitioned from this life to the next. We could not have asked for a better place to spend our final days with him. Their facility is an extraordinary example of how the simple kindness of the human heart can mean so much to those who are grieving.
