Mary Y. Bourdon, 94

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mrs. Mary Yvonne (Benz) Bourdon, 94, of Adams, died on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Williamstown Commons.

She was born in Adams on May 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Christian and Lea (Boutin) Benz. She attended schools in Adams.

Mrs. Bourdon worked for many years at Waverly Fabrics in Adams until retiring as a supervisor.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. She was a member of the Adams Turners and enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards as well as gardening. She was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.

Her husband, Leo O. Bourdon, whom she married on January 31, 1948, died on April 12, 1991.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Melillo and her husband Francis of North Adams; two sons, Joseph Bourdon of Adams and Daniel Bourdon and his wife Tracy of Winter Haven, FL; one sister, Veronica Walker of FL; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son and daughter, Leo and Mary Bourdon, by two brothers, Everett and John Benz, and by five sisters, Tina LeMay, Evelyn Martel, Teresa Tromblay, Catherine Boulerice and Lea Perras.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 877 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

The PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
