Peter M. Desnoyers, 87

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Peter M. Desnoyers, 87, of Adams, died Friday evening, September 29, 2023, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

He was born in Adams on June 18, 1936, a son of the late Leroy and Kathryn (O’Brien) Desnoyers and attended Adams schools.

He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the US Marine Corps from 1954 until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant in 1957.

Pete last worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service at the Adams Post Office for many years until retiring. Earlier, he worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams and had owned and operated the former Grille Restaurant on Summer St. in Adams for several years.

He is survived by two sons, Christopher Desnoyers and his wife Denise of Adams and Peter Desnoyers and his wife Florinda of Erie, CO; three daughters, Kathleen O’Brien and her husband Bill, and Holly Wilk and her husband John, both of Adams, and Kelley Hurley and her husband Paul of South Easton, MA; nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, his former wife, Eileen Banas and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William Desnoyers, by two sisters, Sally Gazaille and Doris Baker.
