William Leonard Turgeon, 93

William Leonard Turgeon, 93 of Winterville, NC, and a former longtime resident of Pownal, VT died on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at ECU Health in Greenville, NC.

Born in North Adams, MA on June 16, 1930, Bill was the youngest son of William Wilfred Turgeon and Bessie A. (Leonard) Turgeon.

Bill was a successful general contractor; his legacy displayed being his converted barn that he lived in for 35+ years that still stand today. He was a communicant of S0ts. Patrick & Raphael Church in Williamstown, MA. You often would find Bill near a waterway fishing, or hunting, and he loved to tell stories about the one that got away. He proudly served his country in the Vermont National Guard for nine years during WWII.

Bill was married to his wife Ramona Marie (Lampman) Turgeon for 68 years prior to her passing on February 20, 2020. Survivors include one son, Ted (Dawn) Turgeon of Southwick, MA, and two daughters, Paula (John) Leonhardt of Winter Springs, FL and Julie Smith of Winterville, NC. He also leaves ten grandchildren including Jennifer, Charles, Matthew, Heather, Emilie, Tyler J., Christopher, Benjamin, Keagan and Lance, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill joins his predeceased son, Michael (1968) and his siblings, Edward Turgeon and Christina Lafavre in heaven.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for William Turgeon will be celebrated on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Saints Patrick & Raphael Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 6-8 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA.
