Robert Lloyd Jr., 72

Robert Reginald Lloyd Jr, 72 of North Adams died on Friday September 15, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Rutland, VT on May 27, 1951 a son of the late Robert R. & Pauline (LaPine) Lloyd. He graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1970. Bob worked for the United States Postal Service in North Adams for many years.

Bob was an avid sports fan, NY Yankees, NY Giants and Boston Celtics. He was a famous softball player throughout the county and coached youth basketball and baseball through the YMCA and North Adams Little League. Robert was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Garner) Lloyd whom he married January 18, 1974 at Holy Family Church in North Adams, two children Michele Ann Lloyd of North Adams, and Christopher Matthew Lloyd of Adams. He also leaves his siblings, Debra Meisner and Donna Boucher (Craig), and brother, Steven (Terri) Lloyd and John (Sandra) Lloyd as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son who died at birth and a sister, Susan Lloyd Tatro.

 

A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Robert Lloyd will be celebrated on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Berkshires or the Berkshire Humane Society through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home – 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247. Always one of my favorite childhood friends. We used to go out early in the morning and watch the worms. Dintvthink we ever actually picked them up lol. Even at a young age he was so even tempered and easy going. We played baseball in the A&P parking lot.
