NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Diane E. "Di" (Rondeau) Dwyer, 58, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenneth R. "Ken" Dwyer; three daughters, Samantha E. Dwyer-Connolly and her husband, Mark, of Danvers, Meghan T. Dwyer Sullivan and her husband, Timothy, of Waltham, and Julie A. Dwyer of Natick; two brothers, David Rondeau and his wife, Gail, of Adams, and Alan Rondeau of North Adams; two sisters, Susan Lecorre and her husband, Joel, of Ottawa, Canada, and Karen Rondeau-Brigham and her husband, David, of North Adams; a brother-in-law, Robert Dwyer and his wife, Kathy, of Wells, ME; a sister-in-law, Paula Dwyer Isakson, and her husband, Neil, of Worcester; several nieces and nephews; and her granddog, Finn. She is predeceased by her parents Albert E. and Barbara A. (Brelia) Rondeau of North Adams and her Mother and Father in Law, Clarence R. J. and Pauline D. (Loiselle) Dwyer of Millbury.
She was born on April 11, 1965 in North Adams to Albert and Barbara. She was a 1983 graduate of Drury High School in North Adams and received her bachelor's degree in accounting with a minor in religious studies from Assumption College in Worcester, where she graduated eighth in her class, in 1987. From early in her life, she was a natural born athlete. In high school, she played several sports, but dominated in track and field, breaking her high school's record for the 440. She also led Drury's basketball team as its point guard and was an All-Berkshire and All-Western Mass selection. Her love of sports continued into her college years and throughout life. She was a huge Celtics fan and wouldn't miss a game.
After graduating from Assumption, she and Ken married, and she worked as an accountant. After Julie was born, she decided to stay home to care for her girls, and for a time, worked as a home care aide for Catholic Charities. She was a faithful follower of God, the most wonderful, dedicated wife and mother, and tireless helper of those in need. She was truly selfless, and acted as a moral compass to many who knew her.
She loved the Catholic faith, attended daily Mass, and felt a special connection to the Blessed Mother. She was a member of Saint Louis Church and was an hourly captain at the Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel in Webster. She was also part of the Alpha Program at Saint Louis and the Light of the World Retreats at Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley.
Beyond this, she loved nature and was an avid birder. She had the utmost respect for all living things, and she walked through life gently. She had a quiet sense of humor that only came out around those who were lucky enough to know her well, and she found joy in simple but meaningful moments with God and her family.
She was so incredibly loved and will be missed beyond measure.
