Paul P. Dugal, 89

FLORIDA, Mass. —  Paul Patrick Dugal, 89 of Florida, MA died on Thursday August 31, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born in North Adams, MA on April 30, 1934, a son of Wilfred Dugal and Alice Marie (Landry) Dugal Thunberg. He graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School and St. Francis of Assisi College in Canada. He earned his master's degree from Middlebury College.

Paul was a teacher in the North Adams public school system for many years until his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.

His wife was Rita Theresa (Poirot) Dugal who died on January 21, 2018. They were married on August 9, 1958. Survivors include one daughter, Paula Dugal of Florida, MA with whom he made his home and two sons, Paul Dugal Jr of North Adams, MA and Wayne (Kelly) Dugal of Pataskala, OH. He also leaves six grandchildren Karl (Jackie) Dugal, Ken (Addie) Dugal, Phillip (Katie) Dugal, Lauren (Adrian) Hall, Andrew (Sarah) Dugal and Brandy Dugal; six great grandsons and nieces and nephews. His son, Brian Dugal died in 1984 and his grandson, Clement Dugal died in 2010.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Paul Dugal will be celebrated on Saturday September 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Friday from 4-7 PM.
