Diane M. Gentes, 74

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  

Diane Marie Gentes, 74, of Cheshire, died Thursday afternoon, August 17, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Adams on January 27, 1949, a daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Szpila) Gentes. She attended schools in Cheshire and Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School. Diane last worked as a bookkeeper at Gem Electric in Adams. Earlier, she had worked at the former Adams Berkshire Inn. She had also been a co-owner of the former Spruce Grove Lounge in Savoy.

Diane is survived by her partner and companion of 25 years, Alan C. Thurston; one son, Kyle Ruebesam of Adams; one daughter, Shellay Ruebesam of Adams; three grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica and Brittany; a sister, Brenda Gentes of Texas as well as several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Gentes and a brother, Gary Gentes.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd. Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Alan, I am sorry to hear of Dianes passing. May you take comfort knowing that you were by her side throughout the darkest of her days and she loved you very much. God bless you and her family.
