James V. Leonesio

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —  James Vincent Leonesio, 76 of Clarksburg, MA died on Saturday July 29, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in North Adams, MA on July 30, 1947, a son of Aldo John Leonesio and Norma (Gnosini) Leonesio. He graduated from Drury High School and the University of Vermont. Jim began teaching in the state of Massachusetts for several years and became the youngest principal of a school in the history of the state. After several years, he joined his family business, Aldo's Paint and Wallpaper which he operated for many years until his retirement. Jim enjoyed hunting, was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a longtime member of the Stamford Fish and Game Association. Survivors include his four children- Katie Leonesio of Santa Barbara, CA; Emile ((Richard) Weber of Arlington, VT; James V. Leonesio Jr of Adams; and Andrew (Angela) Leonesio of Johnstown, RI and his favorite ex step daughter, Jessica Shepley. He also leaves six grandchildren including Rachael, Ozzie, Rowan, Arianna, Shayla and Kylie and a sister.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for James V. Leonesio will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA will be Thursday from 4-6 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. I am so very sad to hear of the passing of Jim. I knew him best from Aldo's. Every time I came out of the store after talking to Jim I felt happy and uplifted. He had a way of bringing joy to the world. He will be missed.

I known Jim since 1969 when he and Carl G. would come up To my Families Camp in Readsboro Vermont. my Dad, Jim, Carl and myself would Snowmobile.
I would ride with Jim because I was only 11 years old and small enough fit on the back of his Sled.
we all would Snowmobile over to Dutch Hill Ski Area among other areas.
I would see Jim at Aldo's and Remember the good times in Vermont.
Jim was a great guy! He will be missed.

To Jim’s family,
