Dustin Kline, 48

Dustin James Kline, 48, of Cheshire died Friday, July 14, 2023 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY after a brief illness. He was surrounded with love from near, far and everywhere in between.

He was born in North Adams on November 22, 1974, a son of Victoria (Zieba) Kline and the late Harold "Chuck" Kline Jr.

Dustin was raised and educated in Adams (skipping first grade). He attended McCann as a Freshman, graduating from Drury in 1992. He attended Berkshire Community College and earned many certifications in Information Technology.

He was last employed as a Systems Analyst with the Office of the Attorney General in New York. Previously, he worked 12 years as Network Tech for North Adams Regional Hospital until their closure in 2014.

Dustin was smart, funny and oh so stubborn. He was beloved and respected by all who were lucky enough to know him. He was always there for whomever, wherever and whenever he was needed, especially for family and close friends.

He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Bruins, attending many games with family and friends. The agony of being a Boston fan mercifully lifted when the Pats won it all in 2002 (good thing Jadyn didn’t decide to arrive THAT day!!!) and the Sox FINALLY won the world series in 2004, a very special day he was thrilled to celebrate with his Dad.

Dustin was a great cook and baker, always baking from scratch, making many impressive cakes for friends and family, especially for his daughter. He had a true passion for grilling and smoking (best pulled pork ever). He could always be found working the grill, no matter whose party or grill it was. He was well known for his amazing ABT's... If you knew, you know.

He enjoyed bowling, golf, music, travel, playing softball, Cribbage, going to concerts, shooting Pool and playing Bass guitar.

Besides his mother of North Adams, he leaves his daughter, Jadyn Elizabeth Kline (his "Goof") and his first grandchild, due to arrive in January.

He also leaves his wife, Jennifer Kline (Dix) of Adams, whom he married September 5, 1998 and remained friends with after separating in 2020.  His brothers, John Kline (Sarah) and Christopher Kline (Jennifer) of Adams and his sister, Trina Farnam (John) of Adams;  His partner, Jennifer Coody, and her mother, Marie Coody of Cheshire and their dog, Herbert;  His cousin and best friend, Jason Zieba (Kelly), His best friend (and brother from another mother), Cory LaCasse and his wife, Heather of VA.  Nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Santino and Anthony Delmolino, Collin Kline, Taylor Kline, Katelyn Whelan, Abby Kline and Brooke Farnam; several great nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, MANY friends and former co-workers.

He was predeceased in death by his father, Chuck Kline , his paternal grandparents, "Harold "Chuck" Kline Sr. and Marion "Pat" Kline-Batz; his maternal grandparents, Stephen Zieba and May Zieba-Will, his Mother-in-Law, Deborah Dix, several Uncles and cousins and his beloved dogs, "Doodle" (O'Malley) and Guinness.

Per Dustin's wishes, there are no calling hours. Funeral is private for family and close friends. Open celebration and remembrance for Dustin will be July 24, 2023, 1-4pm
Elks Lodge - 100 Eagle St, North Adams.

Donations for his daughter and grandchild-to-be may be made through Flynn and Dagnoli.

This still doesn't seem real. I hadn't talked to Dustin in a little. We saw each other at Walmart a bit ago and it was like no time had passed. Even though it was a short conversation, he still flashed that Dustin smile and told me to stay in touch. My sincere thoughts, prayers, and love go to Dustin beloved family, friends that were family, and those who loved him most. May the memories you shared with him bring you comfort, laughter, and comfort during this hard time. It wouldn't surprise me if half the angels were wearing Hawaiian shirts by now. Fly high, Dustin.

Love to Vickie and family. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved son, brother, Dustin. He was a toddler when I first met him. When I went next door to have coffee with Vickie, Dustin would answer the door and ask if I would like "cup coffee". His mom trying to potty train him baked a potty party cake and put in freezer till he was trained. What a party that was. I am so sad that the Lord has taken Dustin at such young age. Love and hugs

It's so difficult to find words. Dustin was my brother and one of my dearest closest friends in the entire world. Distance never really phased us, and we always picked up right where we left off when I would get back to the Berkshires. FaceTime became our way of communicating and it was usually once or twice a month, especially the last couple of years. My heart is absolutely broken he is gone and it is broken for Trina, Vicki, Jadyn, John and Chris and the rest of the family. I've always loved Dustin's family and they always ALWAYS made me feel welcome and wanted. I truly hope you all find peace and comfort through all of this. Dustin and I made a ton of great memories over the years and I will always cherish the time.

Most sincerest of condolences to Dustin's family. You didn't have to know him for very long to figure out that he was a funny, fun, quick-witted guy. A great sense of humor and he always knew how to turn a somber moment into a light hearted one. I'm sure they're serving beer and wings in heaven today.
