Peter A. Levesque, 77
ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Peter Arthur Levesque, 77, of Adams, died on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Berkshire Place in Pittsfield.
He was born in Adams on December 29, 1945, a son of the late Harold and Meriam (Bourdon) Levesque. He attended schools in Adams and North Adams including Charles H. McCann Vocational-Technical High School.
Mr. Levesque was the owner and operator of Maple Grove Equipment in Adams. Earlier he had worked for Hunter Machine, General Electric, Comeau & Sons, Ronnie’s Cycle and Superior Spring.
He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. He was a member of the United States Naval Reserves, past member and president of the Cheshire Lions Club, the Adams Agricultural Commission, a member of NETRA, past member and president of the Hoosac Valley Motorcycle Club as well as the Adams Sno-Drifters and a longtime member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was very involved in his sons’ motorcycle and four-wheeling racing. He enjoyed trials riding, camping and working his ranch with horses.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jean A. Powers, whom he married on August 19, 1989; two sons, Michael Levesque (Linda) of Cheshire and Jon Levesque (Tami) of Adams; two daughters, Cheryl Cantarella (Paul) of Cheshire and Stacy Rougeau (Dwane) of Savoy; his sister Barbara Levesque of Adams; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Grimaldi (Lou) of Somers, CT and Judy Marko (Richard) of Adams; his brother-in-law Bernard Powers of Adams. He also leaves eleven grandchildren- Elizabeth and Jenna Levesque, Seth (Brianna) and Brittany Shepard, Jonpierre, Shaleigh and Justin Levesque, Ceilia Cantarella, and Eric, Layla and Colby Rougeau, along with great granddaughter Kennedy Shepard and two nieces- Avril Levesque (David) and Kelly Patryn and by his two nephews, Todd Powers and Steven Patryn (Linda).
He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Levesque, daughter-in-law Stephanie Levesque, granddaughter Skylar Cantarella and by his niece Tammy Patryn.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 14th at 9:00 A.M. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
