Albert Norman,75

 

Albert Ernest " Bert" Norman 75, a longtime resident of Clarksburg passed away following a brief illness on December 6, 2021.

Albert, known as Bert or Al to many, was born in North Adams on June 24, 1946 a son of Albert and Silvena (Martin) Norman. Albert was a graduate of McCann Technical High School with the class of 1966 where he studied automotive. He married Alice Lea Champagne on September 17, 1966, before enlisting in the United States Army and serving in Vietnam; Albert received the Bronze Star for heroism under fire.

After his honorable discharge, Bert was employed in the automotive industry for more than 30 years. He was an active communicant of Notre Dame and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Churches in North Adams. He loved singing in the choir and was involved with many other parish activities. Bert began a clowning ministry with his longtime friend and partner, Dennis Zepka where they entertained and gave hope to the people of Berkshire County and participated in UCP telethon. He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight for several years. Albert loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Alice of 39 years who died September 11, 2006, two brothers Roy and John Norman and sister Carol Vallieres. He leaves behind his sister Jeanette Arlene O'Neil of North Adams, daughter Lisa Bartlett (Jeffrey) of Clarksburg, son Rev. Paul Norman administrator of All Saints & St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ware, MA, as well as his grandson Jacob Bartlett and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Albert Norman will be celebrated Friday December 17,2021 at 11a.m. at Notre Dame Church- St. John Paul II Parish in Adams, MA. Burial will take in the family plot in Clarksburg Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. are Thursday December 16, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the Knights of Columbus through the funeral home. He was a very good man and my condolences to his family..
