Janet Lee Watson

Janet Lee Watson, 42, of Main Street (Route 43) died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield on June 28, 1959, daughter of Mabel LaPier Watson of Hancock and the late Kenneth A. Watson, she attended Hancock Central School and was a 1977 graduate of New Lebanon (N.Y.) Central High School. Miss Watson had been employed by Ceramaseal in New Leban-on since June 1993. Prior to that, she was employed by Bob's Country Kitchen in Lanesboro, John's Diner in West Lebanon, N.Y., and Jiminy Peak. She attended Hancock Baptist Church and enjoyed knitting. She sold crystal and Tupperware locally, and had bowled in leagues at Lar-A-Bowl in New Lebanon. Besides her mother, she leaves a daughter, Angela Lynn Watson, at home, and five sisters, Judith Lynn Watson, Joanne Linda Watson, Jacqueline Lucinda Watson, all of Hancock, June Lorraine Watson of New Lebanon, and Jean Louise Hoffman of Cherry Plain, N.Y. Survivors include a niece, Courtney Watson, and nephews, Gregory Lawson Jr., Justin Hoffman and Kenneth Sheline, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The funeral will be Friday at 11 from HALL & HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, with the Rev. Penny Rich Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hancock Cemetery. Relatives, friends and co-workers are invited to call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 8. Janet's family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the NYC Workers Relief Fund in care of WMEMS, 7 Denniston Place, Northampton, MA 01060, or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
