Pittsfield - With western Massachusetts working hard to increase its pool of skilled workers, state Senator Benjamin B. Downing D-Pittsfield is pleased to highlight the availability of Workforce Training Grants administered by the state’s Department of Workforce Development, under the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
"Since its creation, the Work Force Training Fund has become an important resource for increasing the intellectual capital of the Massachusetts workforce," stated Downing. "I encourage western Massachusetts businesses to assess their need to upgrade worker skills and apply for these available state dollars."
In addition to three formal funding cycles each year, the Department accepts Workforce Training Grant applications on a rolling basis. Eligible businesses will receive matching grants of up to $250,000 to conduct workforce training programs. Training programs creating significant jobs and job retention may be eligible for up to $1 million in grant funding.
