North Adams - Police are continuing to investigate a Silvio O. Conte Middle School vandalism incident that was reported on Jan. 1. The city has added some investigation incentive; a $1000 reward has been posted for information leading to the conviction of the vandals.
The vandals apparently used black paint to write phrases such as "squeeze tha trigga to stay allvive" across the front-facing exterior brick walls of the 90-year-old building.
Speaking today at noon, police said that details of the investigation would not be disclosed at this time.
The graffiti was removed from the school on Jan. 2. Police Officer Francis Maruco, a school resource officer, launched an investigation that involved speaking to middle school students on Jan. 2, when classes resumed after a holiday recess.
Anyone with information about the vandalism, also known as "tagging," is asked to contact police at 413-664-4955.
