Williamstown – On Sun., Dec. 10 the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, of Williamstown will celebrate the second Sunday in Advent with the blessing of the shawls created by members of the Shawl Ministry Group during the 10:30 a.m. service of worship.
The Reverend Jerry Handspicker, interim pastor, will deliver a sermon entitled “Prophet of the Most High†based on the scripture Malachi 3:1-4 and Luke 1:68-79.
Following the service Dr. Handspicker will lead a seminar on “The Church's Role in Ongoing Evolution†in the Church Parlor. Meanwhile in Fellowship Hall, various vendors who participated in the Williams Students for Social Justice Alternative Gift Faire on Saturday will be open for business.
All are welcome at the Sunday service and events following. The First Congregational Church-UCC of Williamstown is located at 906 Main Street (Rt. 2) across from the top of Spring Street. The Church and Fellowship Hall are fully handicap accessible. Parking is available behind the Church off of Chapin Hall Drive.
