Williamstown - A 40-year-old Pittsfield man is listed in stable condition at the Berkshire Medical Center after he was injured during a weekend motorcycle crash.
Timothy Crouch received what police described as severe injuries when the motorcycle he was driving failed to round a wide curve on the Taconic Trail [Route 2], left the road, continued over a grassy area and then emerged back onto the roadway. Once the motorcycle returned to the paved road surface, it flipped over and Crouch was ejected from the seat, police said.
The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 and was reported to police by passersby with cellular telephones.
Officers with the Massachusetts State Police assisted at the scene with traffic control. Crouch was taken to BMC by the Village Ambulance Service.
An investigation into the crash is being conducted by town police Officer Michael Ziemba and Sgt. Paul Thompson.
