Bennington Museum Hosts Holiday Workshop

12:00AM / Tuesday, October 10, 2006

Bennington, Vt. - The deadline is approaching to reserve space in the Bennington Museum's latest Heritage Craft Workshop.

On November 4 & 5 from 9 a.m. -4 p.m., local artisan Paula LaPorte will present "Holiday Baskets and Wreaths".

Paula is an independent artist who weaves for a living as well as for art's sake. Her business and passion encompass both cane seat weaving and basket weaving. Her personal touch makes her work unique, fun, and inspiring. In this adult workshop Paula will bring her expertise to guide participants in making there own pieces to take home.

On day one of the workshop, participants will create holiday baskets using a simple weave technique. During day two, they will create festive fabric holiday wreaths on a straw base. Basket materials and wreath bases will be provided; however, students should bring pinking shears and five yards of the fabrics of their choice.

This beginner level workshop is $75 members/$85 non-members. Space is limited. Register by October 20 to ensure your reservation.

Call the Programs Coordinator at 802-447-1571.

By purchasing a membership at the museum, you will receive free admission to the museum as well as free and discounted admission to classes and events.
