Pittsfield - A Connecticut man was sentenced to serve up to 17 years in state prison on Sept. 12 after Berkshire Superior Court Judge John Agostini found the man guilty on eight charges.
Gary R.Dus, 54, of Middlebury, was ordered to serve concurrent 8 to 12 year sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institute at Cedar Junction on four counts of rape and abuse of a child no force. Dus was also ordered to serve concurrent three to five year priuson terms on four counts of indecent assault and battery on a person who has attained the age of 14.
Dus was ordered to begin serving the Massachusetts prison terms after he completes a 10-year prison sentence in Connecticut, where Dus was found guilty of first degree sexual assault.
Dus waived his right to a jury trial and had his case heard by Agostini. Dus was charged after a police investigation into incidents that occurred in Richmond between January 1, 2005 and June30, 2005. Dus assaulted a 15-year-old female during the incidents.
Jamie L. Bombardier, 24, of 120 Kearney Ave, was sentenced to serve concurrent one-year jail sentences at the Berkshire County House of Correction on one count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and one count of possession of methylenedioxy amphetanyne with intent to distribute.
Bombardier was ordered to serve on year of probation on one count of posession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Agostini sentenced Bombardier after she pleaded guilty to the charges. Three counts of drug violation within a drug free school zone were dismissed at the request of the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office.
Bombardier was charged after police initiated a traffic stop in Pittsfield on Nov. 9 2005.
Frank Cotton, 38, also known as Francis Cotton and Franklin E. Cotton, of 182 Appleton Ave., was arraigned on one count of distribution of cocaine, one count of a drug violation within a drug free school zone and one count of conspiracy to violate drug laws. Cotton pleaded not guilty to the charges. Agostini ordered Cotton be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
Police allege that Cotton sold cocaine and conspired with others to sell cocaine in Pittsfield on July 18.
Kurth Hudson, 20, of 46 1/2 Bradford St. was arraigned on one count of trafficking in cocaine, one count of a drug violation within a drug free school zone and one count of driving a motor vehicle with a suspended driver's license, second offense.
Hudson pleaded not guilty to the charges. Agostini ordered Hudson held at the Berkshire County House of Correction in liue of $30,000 cash bail.
Hudson was charged after police initiated a traffic stop in Pittsfield on Aug. 4.
