Adams-The Adams Cheshire Savoy Youth Coalition is pleased to announce the addition of six new members to their steering committee.
The newest members of the ACS Youth Coalition steering committee are: Susan Bush of iberkshires.com, Donna Cesan of the Adams Office of Community Development, Carrie Crews of Americorps, Patty Misiuk of the Twenty-First Century After School Program, Jennifer Munoz of REACH Community Health Foundation and Lorraine Robinson of the Adams Parks and Recreation Department.
“We are really excited to see such enthusiasm from the community,†said Liz Baker, Executive Director of Youth Center Inc. “We have been the host site of the coalition for a few years now, and it is really amazing to see our community come together in order to help our children.â€
The ACS Youth Coalition is actively involved in a community organizing initiative called "Communities of Promise" that brings together government, schools, individuals, companies and organizations to improve the odds for children and youth by:
. Influencing the public policies affecting children and youth
. Increasing the scale and scope of resources developed to helping young people achieve their full potential
. Improving practice in the way that young people are served
All interested organizations and individuals, especially youth, are invited to join the work of the Coalition. Any public or private agency or program can apply to be listed in the online youth directory.
