Pittsfield - A Pittsfield man accused of burning a toddler with a lit cigarette was arraigned on numerous charges at the Berkshire Superior Court.
Judge Daniel Ford ordered Norman J. Eason, 40, 112 Robbins Ave, held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $5,000 bail after Eason pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Eason is charged with one count of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, one count of assault and battery on a child with injury, one count of threatening to commit a crime [murder], one count of threatening to commit a crime [malicious destruction of property valued at over $250], and two counts of intimidation of a witness.
Eason was charged after a police investigation into allegations that he used a cigarette to burn a one-year-old girl. Eason also allegedly threatened and intimidated a person who witnessed the action. The incidents allegedly occurred on June 21 and June 22.
Craig A. Thomas, 29, 66 Howard St., pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of heroin with intent to distribute and one count of being present where heroin is kept. Ford ordered Thomas held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $10,000 cash bail.
Thomas was charged after law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at his home on July 14.
Justin R. Williams, 25, 36 Division St., pleaded not guilty to one count of rape, one count of assault with intent to commit murder,
and one count of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.
Ford ordered Williams held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $25,000 cash or $250,000 surety bail.
Williams was charged after a police investigation into a July 27 incident. |
