North Adams – An 18-year-old Adams youth will be summonsed to appear in Northern Berkshire District Court after allegedly driving a sports utility vehicle into the rear of the former K-Mart building on Nov. 26.
Police said that Jacob Levesque, 18, of 14 Simon Ave., Adams, allegedly drove a 1998 Ford Explorer out of a driveway near the east side of the North Adams Transcript building on American Legion Drive and into the building located across the street. The crash caused significant damage to the Explorer and also caused damage to the building, police said.
Police declined to specify the charges pending against Levesque but said that Levesque allegedly left the scene of the accident. Police said that they do not believe Levesque sought medical attention after the crash.
The vehicle was towed from the scene by Dean’s Quality Auto and Wrecker Service.
