Worker Injured in North Adams Fire Escape Collapse
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A man was taken to the hospital after falling about 15 feet when a fire escape collapsed on North Church Street. According to Fire Director Stephen Meranti, the man was working in the Flatiron Block on Wednesday afternoon and was climbing down the fire escape when the ladder portion detached from the platform. The ladder and the man both tumbled onto sidewalk. The man, whose name Meranti did not have available, suffered a laceration on his head. The road was shut down for about 30 minutes while North Adams Ambulance transported him to Berkshire Medical Center |
